Blackie Forrestier
&
The Cajun Aces

Ledel "Blackie" Forrestier, born to a musical family of French speaking Cajun parents in a small village near Lafayette, LA. Blackie Forrestier has attained legendary status among admirers of traditional Cajun music. A master of the diatonic accordion and composer of Cajun music, Blackie has seen this music go from near extinction to become some of the most popular folk music in America. In 1928 the year Blackie was born, Cajun music was still music that was played by Cajuns, and had not yet been influenced by outside sounds. Much of Blackie's music still reflects that unique traditional sound.

As founder and leader of the Cajun Aces band which has been in existence for almost 40 years, he has recorded 17 singles, two LP's and one CD "Back In Time." A second CD is in the works and will be released under the "La Louisianne" label in the summer of '99. This legendary musican is based in Jennings, Louisiana about fort-five miles west of Lafayette, Louisiana. And every Saturday night he can be found playing his foot stomping Cajun music at Randol's Restaurant.
