Charvari
Formerly The Mamou Prarie Band

Charivari has it's roots in perhaps the most obvious place one would begin their search for authentic Cajun music. That place is Evangeline Parish in the state of Louisiana. Besides being famous for such popular Cajun tourist visiting spots as Fred's Lounge in Mamou and the Pig Stand Restaurant in Ville Platte, the area is known as a breeding ground for some of the best known Cajun musicians such as Nathan Abshire, Dewey Balfa, Cyprien and Adam Landreneau. Today the Mamou Prarie Band is doing their part to assure that the work of the great musicians who preceded them is continued. Leader and fiddler Mitchell Reed has been given the band from his father Bob Reed and thus a new chapter in the Mamou Prarie Band begins.
